Local Attractions

Located in Boalsburg, in central Pennsylvania; Springfield House Inn is only minutes away from State College, PA (home of Penn State University) and two Interstate highways. Choose an early breakfast “to go” and take in the many attractions of this scenic mountain area. You may want to partake in a leisurely full breakfast and then relax on the wrap-around porch of our civil war era B&B. Later, take a stroll in this historic town for some shopping at A Basket Full, The Boalsburg Chocolate Co, Your Perfect Fit, n'V Contemporary Clothing, The Village Square Shop, or Riley on Main or lunch in one of our several cafes.

We recommend Duffy's Boalsburg Tavern and Kelley's Steak and Seafood just a few steps away in Boalsburg Village.

The Springfield House is about 25 minutes from and is one of the closest accommodations to Woodward Camp , the world's premier extreme sports facility. We often welcome friends and families of campers as we do speak skating here.

Boalsburg retains much of the charm of its past. Tree lined Main Street is a mixture of quaint shops, restaurants and private homes that invites an afternoon stroll, a stop at the tavern, browsing, shopping or just relaxing on the porch at Springfield House.

Within minutes of Boalsburg and our B&B Inn are Penn State University, Beaver Stadium, The Bryce Jordan Center, Tussey Mountain Ski Area and Family Fun Center and the restaurants, shops and taverns of State College, PA, the quintessential college town.

Within Walking Distance are Duffys Tavern, an authentic 19th century Tavern style and fine dining restaurant and Kelly's Steak and Seafood known for fresh Pacific Northwest seafood.
